Terms of use
These terms cover the Thirdspace app and thirdspace.my. By signing in to Thirdspace you agree to them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, ask us.

What Thirdspace is
Thirdspace connects three kinds of people. Cafés list their space and open slots in their quiet hours. Organisers request a slot, agree the details with the café, and publish an event page. Visitors find events and join them. One account can do all three.
Thirdspace is a place to find each other. We are not a party to the arrangements between a café and an organiser, or between a host and their guests, and we don't run the events.
Your account
- You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure; what happens in Thirdspace under your account is your responsibility.
- You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Use your real name, and give a WhatsApp number that is yours when Thirdspace asks for one.
- One café per account.
Venue requests
- A request is not a booking. A slot is held only when the café approves your request.
- When you send a request you agree to the café's house terms and cancellation policy, as shown on its listing.
- Venue pricing (free, a minimum spend per person, or a flat fee) is set by the café and paid at the café, not through Thirdspace.
- Either side can cancel a pending or approved request in the app. If an approved request is cancelled, any event page on it is cancelled too.
Hosting an event
- Every event must sit on a real slot at a café: your approved request, or, for cafés, one of your own open slots.
- Describe your event accurately: what happens, when, the price and what it includes. You are responsible for running it safely and lawfully.
- If your event has a price, guests pay you at the door. Refunds are between you and your guests.
- If you cancel an event, everyone going is told.
Going to an event
- Joining reserves you a spot. If your plans change, give the spot back in Plans so someone else can have it.
- Check in at the door with your name. Pay the host at the door if the event isn't free.
Listing a café
- You must be allowed to list the café and to host events in it.
- Keep your listing, photos, capacity, slots and terms accurate, and honour the requests you approve.
- You can pause or unpublish your listing at any time.
Fees
Thirdspace is free for everyone during launch and takes no cut of venue or event money. If we introduce a fee later (we expect a yearly listing fee for cafés), we will tell you in the app before it applies, and you can choose not to pay and stop listing.
What's not allowed
- Anything illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, violent or harassing, in listings, event pages, photos, notes or names.
- Misleading listings or events, spam, or using Thirdspace to collect other people's contact details.
- Getting around blocks, or trying to access what you are not meant to see.
You can report a café, an event or a person from inside the app, and block anyone. Thirdspace filters some words automatically. We may remove content, hide listings or events, or suspend accounts that break these terms.
WhatsApp and other services
Thirdspace has no chat. It opens WhatsApp with a message ready to send. What you say there, and anything you agree there, is between you and the other person, under WhatsApp's own terms.
Your content
You own what you post. You give Thirdspace permission to show it in the app and on thirdspace.my for as long as it is on Thirdspace, so that others can find your café or event. Only post photos you have the right to use.
Liability
We work to keep Thirdspace running and accurate, but we provide it as it is and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent Malaysian law allows, Thirdspace is not liable for what happens at a café or an event, for arrangements between users, or for indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or other laws that can't be excluded.
Ending
You can stop using Thirdspace and delete your account at any time (Profile > Delete account). We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk.
Changes and law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app first. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.
